Jay-Z, Beyonce and Baby Makes Three

Last night at MTV Video Music Awards, Beyonce made an announcement, more like a statement when she rubbed her belly. Not once, but twice.

Yes my friends, Beyonce is pregnant. According to Twitter, Beyonce rubbing her baby bump was the most tweeted about topic on Twitter, ever!

Let’s hope baby looks like Beyonce.

I am beyond happy and thrilled for the Carters. Congrats!

100 Things About Me (Cinquième Partie)

I present you all with part five:

  1. If it wasn’t Jesus, my family, and friends, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
  2. Some people would call me crazy (in a good way of course [:)
  3. My senior year of high school, I spent most of my class time drawing/coloring or taking photos of myself.
  4. I motivated by having opportunities that not a lot of people get to have in their lives. I have a college degree, have a great support system of family and friends, I have a job, I live in a country filled with opportunities. That enough keeps me going, I know if a flash all these things can be taken away.
  5. My favorite cereal is Special K Cholocately Delight.
  6. My favorite video game is Grand Theft Auto IV and the Micheal Jackson Experience.
  7. I’m learning how to cook a little at a time. So far: grilled chicken and omelet. More to come soon.
  8. I’m very excited about my future, even if things are slow to pick up. I know there are greater things to come.
  9. “Happy Face” by Destiny’s Child is a great way to start my morning.
  10. My favorite quote is “Do one thing that scares you everyday.” Eleanor Roosevelt.

The Help

Seester, Brother, and I saw The Help last night. While the movie was over two hour long, the storyline made it seem like the movie went by fast. The acting was by far superb. All of the actors were amazing in their roles. I can see this film getting Oscar nominations.

The Help is based off the book of the same title by Kathryn Stockett  is set in 1963 Jackson, Mississippi during the height of the civil right movement. The main character, Skeeter, returns to Jackson after graduating from Old Miss. She wants to be an author, but she is told by an editor she needs experience. She takes up a job writing the domestic section for a local newspaper in Jackson. While attending a game of bridge at her friend’s home, she notices how they treated the help. She gets an idea to write a book that would let the rest of the United State see how the help was really treated by having the help tell their stories. Back in the 1960s, Jim Crow laws prohibited African Americans from being interviewed in any new publications, let alone books. Ignoring the law, Skeeter recruites two maids to tell their stories for the book: Aibileen and Minnie. The movie flashback about the three woman’s experiences as maids or with their maids.

The Help shows how African Americans maid were treated by the family they helped. Some of the families were kind and others were downright mean. This movie has funny parts as well as tear jerking parts. Jim Crow era is accurately portrayed as the maids struggle to work in harsh environments so they can support their families. This is the first dramatic role I have seen Emma Stone in. While she excellent in comedy, I can see her doing more dramatic roles in the future. The expressions on some of the actors faces shows the pain and anguish that many felt during the Civil Rights movement. Overall, this movie is a must see. So go see it! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

It’s Hard To Say Goodbye

My room is a mess; everything is either on the floor or pack up in boxes. Later on today I will turn in my keys and move on to the next stage in my life. I have literally live in this town for the last for years. It is going to be strange leaving here and moving back home(for now). This is really a bittersweet moment; my college life is coming to an end, while my life in the real world is just beginning. Now I’m ready for the next stage in my life to begin. Goodbye apartment and hello my comfortable bed.

P.S. Packing sucks! I’m not even half way done.
